i dIdn't mean to say goodbye;
was just afraid to ask you why:
why you bLushed and why you sighed;
we didn't rush—that's why we died.
the gLow faded, our Love fought;

MemoryMemory is like the tide,
It swells and ebbs;
It's free and wide,
Yet ridden with dregs.

At times it's calm—
Soothing and sweet;
Like a tender balm,
A gentle beat.

It's violent, too—
Coarse and bitter;
Like a vicious coup,
A cruel winter.

In it, I do bask,
Adrift in my mind;
I need only ask
To be lost in time.

What's Not Being SaidI heard you sigh
but at the time
I didn't say a word;

I saw you cry
but didn't know
your voice was so unheard.

I felt you break
but truly thought
I shouldn't be around;

For my own sake
I should have fought
to keep your feelings sound.

Please, listen to what's not being said.

She BelievedI stumble through my mind,
Weakened by the pain of years.
I always search but cannot find
The source of all my bitter tears.

I see a light, an anchor, a hope;
I limp faster, relieved by the sight.
I found a gentle, downward slope—
Like a rescue from a blight.

I lean on you, no longer afraid;
Finally I have found relief.
Tears dry, memories fade,
Like wind carries a wilted leaf.

But in the end, it wasn't true—
You held my heart yet let it die.
My anchor became my noose;
My trust was blinded to your lie.

How could I be so ignorant?
You pledged to never leave my side.
There's none to blame but myself—

And no one has the key.
It has been years, maybe more
Since someone talked to me.
The solitude was nice at first,
The quiet let me think.
But soon it took a turn for worse—
Now all I do is blink.

Sometimes I don't know why

I can't get myself to say goodbye

Say goodbye to you and I

Say goodbye to haunted eyes

To send my longings down the drain

To have no room left to complain

To find a way to ease my pain

Is asking too much everyday

It seems no matter how hard I try

It never gets easier to say goodbye

No matter how many time I comply

Saying goodbye always makes me cry

Because you never know during times

When you and I say were fine

What could happen in the dark of night

God forbid you were to die

After a fight or some little feud

Where you walk away and say I'm rude

I may never hear that voice again

My Masquerade~My Masquerade~

For the world I am displayed;
They always watch but cannot see
through my masquerade.

I feel every moment fly;
My heart is beating, pulse racing,
breath held as I lie.

My innocence I can't defend;
I know that surely this will linger
'til my very end.

I brought this all upon myself;
Mask upon mask, lie upon lie
like valueless wealth.

Dare I take these masks off – no!
My former self haunts me
everywhere I go.

False glory, false honor, false fame;
With all these masks I seem to have
forgotten my own name.

ExpectationsThe pressure keeps me going,
Yet holds me back.
The thought isn't comforting—
It feels like an attack.

The sort that keeps me up at night;
Why my fingernails are short.
Like a dark and looming blight;
A disheartening exhort.

Better, better, better!
The expectation is quite blunt.
Never, never, never...
Exactly what they want.

I'm not the person I want to be,
Due to expectations.
Under the eyes that never see—
My pain is their creation.

Battle ScarsBattle Scars:

Sharp claws rake into my skin
as my blood bursts forth to splatter against the ground
The uneven breathing of my foe
tells me that he too is wounded and close to death

I can see his teeth, flecked with frothing saliva
foaming and spitting as he bellows his name
He charges into me, his frame crashing with mine
the impact has me reeling and I fall back against the stone

The ground feels cold
the icy chill seeping into my bones
the warmth of my blood escapes me
and I can feel myself beginning to fade

Up toward the sky I glance
praying that I might receive assistance
I pray that he who commands me, he who stands above
Will pity

You Lift Me UpYou Lift Me Up:

When first I fell from the grace of the light
Tumbling endlessly through an uncaring sky
With wings torn from me, blotched and bloodied;
It was time for me to die...

But a bed of flowers, with the scent of lillies;
Caressing my heart with its soothing fragrance
Left me stronger and healed my wounds;
In the dark it was my radiance

It brought me back from the brink of despair
And made me forget that I would never fly
Instead I am content with these broken wings
If I may sleep where you still lie...

Here upon the ground, having faced my judgement
I am calm and collected without burden to bear
Someday I wish to retu

JudgementJudgement:

You are a mewling coward and weakling
Offal to the world, yet too arrogant to admit it!
Unbridled by the feelings of shame and guilt;
A man who was naught but a self-serving sycophant...
Remember the days that you used to spend
Envious of others who worked harder than you
More and more you would curse at their backs
It was an act that blackened your tongue and soul!
Now as you gaze into the maw of the inferno
Endlessly waiting for the judge's call

She waits for him
at the gates that stood when even the world crumbled
She sighs
knowing that her own name will soon be forgotten

Where once she carried the weight of the world
now her strength is but the tiniest whisper
A single spark, left to crackle amongst the shades
until all is lost in the endless folds of time

It's getting colder
though she still continues to stand by the gates
She is getting older
and thus her memories must fade...

Angels gather to watch her in these final moments
and they bow their heads as a sign of respect
For even now, as the life leaves her body
Still she continues to wait...

I could give into these feelings

Or look into your eyes

I could be stabbed with a stake

And live to talk and boast

I could drink myself to oblivion

And still never feel bliss

I could make a bold decision

And give you another kiss

I could try to right my wrongs

But some things can't be fixed

I could find where I belong

But your intentions are too mixed

When you keep pushing me away?
Remember—I can't read your mind,
And time cannot rewind.

Regret will only make it worse—
Like a bad omen from a curse.
This will surely make you stronger;
Please just hold on longer.

I'll be here, right by your side;

I used to have a friend like that. She'd support me through almost everything. Now she's gone and she's my problem. I feel like I've got no one left.

I told her I was there for her and I still am.

Aw... That's so sweet. How long have you been writing poems?Every poem I come across written by you is so inspiring and amazing. I have to say, I've tried to write poems for years, and everything that I've wrote put together is nothing compared to just one of your poems.
