Bitterness:
This vile disease
Can harden your heart;
Bring your soul to its knees.

Unreachable:
It can't be found –
(This ravaging curse)
It's silent and sound.

Consuming:
It changes the soul;
Quenches the flame;
Puts a mark on us all.

Damaging:
Every man that it finds
Changes throughout –
Their hearts and minds.

Lingering:
To the end of your days,
This putrid state
Will devour away.

Deceiving:
It erases regret –
Pollutes your mind;
Masquerades as a threat.

All that you hold close
Will waft to dust
In the wind that is...
Bitterness.
